Mary grew up in San Antonio, Texas and has lived her entire life in the area. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Texas at San Antonio, she achieved her law degree from St. Mary’s University, after teaching high school biology for three years in Northside Independent School District. Her teaching experience was one of the most valuable, rewarding parts of her life. Her years in the classroom with high school students taught her how to explain complex scientific concepts clearly—something that has been invaluable in representing injured clients in presenting medical evidence to juries throughout her legal career. She has fought for decades to achieve justice for individuals and families whose lives have been devastated by serious physical and emotional injuries as the result of negligence on the part of others—she prides herself in holding corporations, individuals, and others accountable for the damages they inflict because of carelessness or neglect. She considers it an honor to guide people through the most difficult times of their lives and believes profoundly that thorough preparation, persuasive advocacy, and personal commitment are the foundation of her success.
Mary is licensed to practice in the States of Texas and New Mexico, and admitted to practice in the United States Federal Courts of the Western and Southern Districts of Texas. Mary’s commitment to excellence in advocacy for her clients has earned her numerous honors, including induction into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) , an invitation-only, peer-nominated national organization recognizing experienced trial lawyers who demonstrate exceptional courtroom skill, professionalism, and integrity. She is also recognized as a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rated attorney, the highest peer rating awarded for both legal ability and ethical standards, based upon confidential evaluations by judges and attorneys.
When Mary is not in the office, she is happiest with a tennis racket in her hand playing tennis with her husband Cameron, and hiking with her standard poodle Charlie, rarely missing a chance to follow whatever adventure her granddaughter Madeline takes them, happily taking orders from her when they are together.
